Come Learn with me: Getting Started on Etsy

I will be teaching an exciting new class for Etsy Dallas and Dallas Makerspace, Getting Started on Etsy.  This class is for Etsy beginners who want to learn all the best practices to launch an Etsy shop successfully. The curriculum I will be teaching has been developed by some amazing folks at Etsy.com, and I am delighted to work with them to offer it locally in Dallas.

My Etsy shop has brought me so many amazing opportunities,
allowed me to work a flexible schedule (around my kid's crazy schedules), and helped me to make so many talented friends.
And you can do it too! Come let me show you how!

Big Week

Wow, what a week my Matryoshka dolls had! On Thursday, my little sweeties were a top pick in the Storque: Etsy's Handmade Blog. Joel Henriques, an artist and toy designer, wrote a fun tutorial on how to make your own Nesting Dolls. I was thrilled to have my dolls featured there.

And then, yesterday there they were in the Dallas Morning News. I discovered this as I was enjoying my annual Birthday Breakfast in Bed. What a fun birthday treat!

Take a Peek

I have been working with Abby from Mavora Art & Design on some awesome new advertising graphics for my Etsy shop. Abby is so very talented and she was endlessly patient with me.

Just take a peek at these beauties:

What do you think?

I know you might be a smidgin curious what I am planning to do with these lovelies, but you'll just have to patient. I do have some big plans, yes indeedy, but I'll be keepin' it under my hat {just for a wee bit longer}.

**Don't forget I'm having a Giveway! Entry deadline October 31, 2010.**

Into the Woods

My Treasury made it to the Front Page on Etsy; a very exciting day!

If you want to see it up close and personal, you can see it better here. Thanks so much to KimsCraftyApple for alerting me. I really, really, really appreciate alerts to exciting events like these, because I would have missed it completely.

Meet the Tooth Buddies

I would like to introduce you to the friendliest little tooth fairy pillows around, the Tooth Buddies. They are full of personality and fun.

Meet Isabella. She is a real girlie girl and loves to wear flowers in her hair.
This is Pinky. Isn't she a darling?
Meet Mr. Macho. He is very manly and likes to twirl his mustache in his free time.

Each has a pocket on the back to hold a little one's baby tooth until the Tooth Fairy arrives. This pocket is also the perfect place for the Tooth Fairy to leave her goodies.

If you are not familiar with eco-felt, it is a wonderful new green product. It is felt made from recycled post-consumer plastic. Who knew going green could be so much fun?

Many more Tooth Buddies are on their way. Coming soon, glasses and bow ties. You can see the entire collection in my Etsy shop.

Babushkas, Matryoshkas, Russian Nesting Dolls; Oh So Sweet!

Babushkas, Matryoshkas, Russian Nesting Dolls; how ever you say it, they are just too sweet. And I can't get enough of them.

This website has a wealth of information about the history of Russian Nesting Dolls: http://russian-crafts.com/nesting-dolls/history.html.

Here's my interpretation:

To make these, I combine imported Japanese print fabric from Kokka with a crochet lace ruffle, and hand embroidered detailing.

These are available in sleeveless tank and short sleeve styles.

Introducing Regal Baby Balls

Regal Baby Balls are a new line of baby toys from Regal Cottage. They combine super fluffy, soft vintage chenille with designer fabrics.

Babies love the colors and textures. Moms and Dads love how easy they are to coordinate with other items in baby's nursery.

They come in three sizes: Small (5 in./11 cm) and Medium (6 in./ 14 cm) sizes, and Large (9 in./ 20 cm).

The color possibilities are endless in these; new ones will be added daily. Feel free to contact me with your custom request.
